What you and your child can expect
Dr. Kersey and our team take a special interest in caring for the needs of children. We feel there is a significant opportunity to instill good habits and positive perceptions of dentistry when patients are still very young. We encourage you to think of this first meeting as a fun, casual experience. You and your child will be introduced to the sights and sounds of a modern, non-intimidating dental practice. You will never feel rushed. We go at your child’s pace. The length of this appointment varies depending on your child’s interest and response to different aspects of the dental environment.
Some kids respond really well to taking a ride in the “spaceship” (the dental chair). Others may feel like they are a part of the visit by holding “Mr. Thirsty” (the suction) during their teeth cleaning. What better way to learn what we are all about than to play an active role? Since very young children still need help with brushing and caring for their mouths at home, we also involve you in supporting oral care and provide tips for making healthy eating and brushing rewarding and fun.

A complete assessment of the teeth, TMJs (jaw joints), bite, and gums is fundamental to a healthy smile that also looks great and is a source of pride. In addition to advanced, low-radiation digital X-rays, Dr. Kersey uses tiny (non-invasive) intraoral cameras to detect areas of disease, infection, broken-down fillings, ill-fitting appliances, and much more. These assessments are gentle, precise, safe, and quick. They promote excellent health because Dr. Kersey can spot the tiniest details and trouble areas and recommend changes to oral care and treatments to stop these problems in their tracks before they cause significant and painful damage.
Dental insurance
Our team has considerable experience navigating the insurance process. As a courtesy to our patients with dental insurance, we bill most conventional dental plans in-office. Any co-pays and deductibles are requested at the time of service. Since dental plans can vary so considerably, we don’t want you to have any unpleasant surprises.
