Meet Dr. Douglas B. Kersey, Jr.
The journey to a career in dentistry wasn’t a straight line for Dr. Kersey; however, all roads led back home.
A native of Manchester, Dr. Kersey earned his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in 1995 from the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!). He put that degree to use in the insurance industry.
After working in the industry for several years, he discovered his true calling. Upon completing the science requirements at Auburn University, Dr. Kersey earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry in 2006 – the same year he and his wife, Ashley, moved to LaGrange to start Kersey Dental. His commitment to learning has never waned.
Dr. Kersey is dedicated to advancing the profession and staying up to date with the latest techniques and treatments to provide the highest-quality, safest care.

More than a white coat
Dr. Kersey can’t think of a better way to spend his free time than with his children, Caroline, Hugh, and Mary Frances. Dr. Kersey’s outdoor pursuits include golfing, hunting, and building. His other out-of-office pursuits include reading, expanding his vinyl record collection, and college football. Dr. Kersey also volunteers his expertise to MercyMed of Columbus, which provides affordable, quality health care services to the underserved. Through The Smile Foundation, he provides dental care to those in need in Isla Mujeres, an island off the coast of Cancun, Mexico.
